“Of silk & salt” takes its inspiration from stories & history of mythic asian roads that influenced Kathmandu Valley. For centuries, Nepali people exchanged with neighbors countries: India, Nepal, China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Persia, Turkey , golden triangle, Myanmar etc. From ancient silk & transhimlayan roads that served to exchange all type of goods such as silk & salt but as well religions, arhcitecture, ideas and customs to hippie overland route of the 60’s that drained youth travelers from the Western road to Kathmandu. With “of silk & salt” we want to share our travelling discoveries and pay a tribute to this rich melting pot of religions, traditions, arts & crafts & mythologies through its atmosphere, designs and receipies.
